Originally designed to compliment his fine furniture and cabinets, José Regueiro offers his own line of classic and unique ceramic and stainless steel decorative knobs called the Earthen Elements Collection ©. This collection is available through some of the finest hardware showrooms and trade professionals in the United States. Among his many customers the renowned New York architectural design firm of Tihany Design has specified them for some of their most prestigious projects, including Jean-Georges' restaurant in New York City and one sixtyblue, Michael Jordan's restaurant in Chicago. Other notable projects include the Villa Paradiso in Nevis, British Virgin Islands, an exclusive Caribbean resort and the Fish A' Bit Ranch, an equestrian ranch in Montana. Each knob is individually solid cast in custom designed molds using a stoneware ceramic very similar to porcelain. Each knob is then bisque fired in the kiln before being hand glazed with multiple brush coats. After the glazing process, they are glaze fired to over 2100° Fahrenheit to a vitreous rock-hard state. We do all our firing in a precision digital kiln which insures the most consistent glazes (available in 21 glaze colors). Lastly, we epoxy a marine grade 304 stainless steel stem into each knob utilizing an extremely strong epoxy that can withstand temperatures of over 400 degrees F. The precision machined stems are given a soft brush finish before assembly. Every knob comes individually packaged and includes a 1 1/8" truss-head screw, lock washer and 1 3/4" screw for thicker doors or drawers. Included with each shipment are instructions that give professional advice and tips on proper installation and use.
